On October 31, 2025, the Institute for Rural Development and Innovation Studies (IRDIS) under the College of Agriculture and Natural Resource (CANR) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) held a brief handing-over to usher in its Acting Director, Prof. Ebenezer Owusu-Addo.
During the ceremony, the outgoing Director, Dr. (Mrs.) Monica Addison expressed her gratitude to the entire staff for their support during her tenure in office. She entreated staff to exhibit the same level of support, or perhaps even greater efforts, to be provided for the Acting Director, all for the benefit of the Institute.
Prof. Owusu-Addo, in his speech, expressed his gratitude to the immediate past Director for leading the Institute to this height. He encouraged staff to lookup for a transformative drive agenda towards achieving the Institute’s ultimate goal.
Prof. Owusu-Addo stated that he would reveal his vision for the Institute in the coming days but called for the cooperation of all staff during his tenure in office. Staff present at the ceremony, which included senior members, associate professors, and senior and junior staff, shared words of congratulations, insight, and motivation.
